Bill came to this three-point parish July 2008, having just graduated
from Huron University College Seminary. He
was born and grew up in London, the son of Bill and Phyllis White.
For thirty-two years, he was a teacher with the Middlesex, London, and
Thames Valley School Boards and retired in 2004 as principal of
Princess Elizabeth Public School in Ingersoll. He is delighted to be
in Oxford County in this new role.
Fr. Bill is a graduate of Waterloo Lutheran University – (now Wilfrid
Laurier) – Waterloo (B.A., 1971) Niagara University, N.Y. (M.Sc.Ed.,
2000) and Huron University College, London (M.Div., 2008). He was
ordained a Deacon on June 4th, 2008, and
to the priesthood on
November 27 of the same year.
Bill is married to Liesel (Elisabeth
White) who is Manager of Employment and Strategic Initiatives in the
Community Services department of the City of London. They are proud
parents of Bill III, a professional engineer with CH2M Hill, currently
working in Toronto, Ontario and married to Meghan, grand-daughter of an
Anglican priest. Bill and Liesel live in Woodstock.
Bill is a strong believer in a wise, kind God with a gentle, loving sense of
humour, one God, one church, one people, and in working
with ecumenical partners. He particularly enjoys liturgy and preaching,
and has expressed delight and respect for the commitment and energy of
the people of his three congregations, and their friends and neighbours.
He invites friends and family, neighbours, and strangers to come to
church with any of the three congregations. Meet us, say
"Hello" and join us as we pray, sing God's praises, and hear
God's holy scriptures.
